Young Women’s
Place offers a safe and peaceful environment which encourages
the development of the individual. We adopt an holistic
approach to meeting the needs of young women aged 10 to
30 years, their families and significant others, facilitating
opportunities for their participation. We value confidentiality,
non-violence, open communication and co-operation.
Young Women’s
Place operates within a strengths-based environment that
facilitates the self-development of young women through
the enhancement of their capacity for informed decision
making and self-determination.
We provide information, services and resources to young women
in order to enhance their life choices and counter discrimination
as it may present within the context of their lives. This service
will endeavour to operate from a preventative and pro-active
position.
At Young Women’s
Place we strive to maintain knowledge of issues that may
impact upon young women and contribute to policy development
wherever possible. To this end, we lobby and advocate on
behalf of young women. We also liaise and collaborate,
as appropriate, with other services and agencies relevant
to the interests of young women.
